Who we are

BuildRush ("we", "us") is a UK-wide marketplace for urgent home repairs, connecting homeowners with tradespeople. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password when you register.
• Job details: the job title, description, category, location (city/town), fixed price and timeframe you post.
• Responses: the replies tradespeople submit, including their name, trade and arrival estimates.
• Membership data: subscription plan, chosen trade and payment status, processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Contact messages: the name, email and message you send us through the contact form.

How we use it

We use your data to run the service: showing your job to subscribed tradespeople, introducing customers and tradespeople, sending job alerts and service emails, taking payments through Stripe, and answering your enquiries. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Sharing

Your job details are visible to subscribed tradespeople while the job is open. Payment processing is handled by Stripe (see Stripe's own privacy policy). We may disclose data where required by UK law.

Retention and your rights

We keep job and membership records only as long as needed to run the service and meet legal obligations. You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, or deletion at any time by emailing hello@thebuildrush.com. You also have the right to complain to the ICO.
